I was watching the Today show yesterday and realized a myriad of things, two of the most important are that 1.) Matt Lauer is just all that and 2.) Miss California has a right to express her opinion wherever and whenever she wants and everyone should just shut the hell up about it. Do I agree with her...NO, but she has a right to her opinion and the right to express it. I feel rather bad for her, but after watching her yesterday she's absolutely correct.
Why is everyone vilifying her for EXPRESSING her opinion. She herself agrees that people have differing views, but that doesn't seem to be the point. And, the judge (who should be ashamed of himself for portraying homosexuals in such a stereo-typical manner both on his web cam site and on the pageant) should shut the hell up. The Miss USA contest is a pageant scholarship and while we can all snicker at that, she is pursuing higher education so how can he classify her as a "stupid bitch"? There is also ridicule that she is leaving her platform of Special Olympics support and now jumping on the no same-sex marriage band wagon, but she is only getting this attention for the question the judge posed to her and that's where the attention is going - had he asked about mentally retarded people, I am sure the focus would be there.
P.S. I have been smoke free for 33 days:-) And, seriously...i dusted off the treadmill so it's ready to get back in action on Monday:-)
